Core Maths Summary
Core Maths is a Level 3 course that is designed to give students essential problem-solving and quantitative skills.
Core Maths is equal in size and UCAS tariff points to an AS Level and is a perfect option for those who require mathematical techniques in other subjects such as Geography, Psychology, Forensic Science and more. It is delivered to support your studies in your full A Levels.
The examinations are split into two papers. For Paper 1, you will study personal finance and learn about tax and National Insurance, along with percentages, interest rates and mortgages, and also large-scale estimation problems. Paper 2 predominantly involves the application of statistics, looking at representing data, the Normal Distribution and confidence intervals, as well as scatter graphs and correlation and regression.
