How you will study

Supported by a specialist maths teacher, you will be taught the content of the course through a mixture of modelled worked answers and investigations. Students have 6 lessons a fortnight, with minimal homework in order to support students in dedicating time to their A-level subjects. However, students completing the course are encouraged to work independently to revise the content covered and ask for help if needed.

Core Maths students sit regular in class progress assessments in order to receive personalised feedback on their work and are supported through the use of past papers to prepare for their exams in May.

Achievement in this qualification can support progression to go on and study relevant Computer Science degrees in a Higher Education institution. It can also support Level 3 degree apprenticeships in computing and employment in programming and software development roles.
