Careers at Wilsthorpe Sixth Form

At Wilsthorpe Sixth Form, we prioritise providing comprehensive careers support to help our students navigate their future paths with confidence. Our strong partnership with Nottingham Trent University and the University of Oxford Outreach programme allows us to deliver assemblies and workshops on UCAS applications, university life, student finance and entrance exams. Additionally, we offer tailored guidance and workshops for students considering higher apprenticeships through our collaborations with local apprenticeship providers, such as Cooper Parry and Rolls Royce. Our dedicated Careers Advisors meet with students on a one-to-one basis, offering personalised support and guidance for those who are unsure about their next steps.

We also offer practical experiences to our students to explore their chosen career paths. At the end of Year 12, we invite all students to participate in work experience placements of their choice. This invaluable opportunity not only helps students confirm their aspirations but also provides additional evidence for personal statements and references. Through small group tutorials and personal development sessions, we closely support students throughout UCAS, apprenticeship and future employment applications. We have a team of experienced tutors who are also fully prepared in supporting students to apply for Oxbridge, Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Science courses. At Wilsthorpe Sixth Form, we prioritise empowering students to make informed life choices and pursue successful futures.
