Careers at Wilsthorpe Sixth Form

At Wilsthorpe Sixth Form, we prioritise providing comprehensive careers support to help our students navigate their future paths with confidence. Our strong partnerships with Nottingham Trent University and University of Nottingham allow us to deliver assemblies and workshops on UCAS applications, university life, student finance , and entrance exams. Additionally, we offer tailored guidance and workshops for students considering higher apprenticeships through our collaboration with the Amazing Apprenticeships programme ‘ASK’. Our dedicated Careers Advisor meets students on a one-to-one basis, offering personalised support and guidance for those who are unsure about their next steps.

Furthermore, we believe in offering practical experiences to our students to explore their chosen career paths. At the end of Year 12, we invite all students to participate in work experience placements of their choosing. This invaluable opportunity not only helps students confirm their aspirations but also provides additional evidence for personal statements and references. Through tutor time and one-to-one meetings, we continue to support our students throughout their UCAS applications and beyond, ensuring they are well-prepared for the next chapter in their educational journey. At Wilsthorpe Sixth Form, we prioritise empowering students to make informed decisions and pursue successful futures.
